(Clemson, SC)—Tile Council of North America (TCNA) announces Bill Griese, director of TCNA’s standards development and sustainability initiatives, has been elected as finance and audit committee chair of the ASTM International board of directors. Griese has served on the board since 2018.

Griese, who regularly conducts seminars and contributes articles to industry publications, is a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited professional. An ASTM International member since 2007, Griese serves as chair of the ceramic tile subcommittee (C21.06) and is a member of the committees on sustainability (E60) and manufactured masonry units (C15). He previously served three consecutive terms as chair of the ceramic whitewares and related products committee (C21). Griese has also been chair of the ASTM Committee on Technical Committee Operations.

Griese received the J.A. Thomas President’s Leadership Award and Award of Merit for his contributions to ASTM International. He holds a bachelor’s degree in ceramic and materials engineering from Clemson University.
